About MEITAL

MEITAL - Learning Technologies Center

MEITAL (IUCEL: Inter-University Center for E-learning) is an inter-institutional center of excellence that promotes the use of learning technologies in higher education in Israel. MEITAL’s members include 20 academic colleges as well as Israel’s eight universities.

Pedagogic needs, technological development and accessibility of digital information make the field of online learning a complex and dynamic field that is constantly undergoing change and progress. Among other things, MEITAL serves as the central inter-institutional forum for the joint promotion of online learning in higher education, in cooperation with national institutions. Alongside this, MEITAL is an active member of international forums and plays an active role in global partnership and consortia in the learning technologies field. 

The MEITAL community, comprised of member institutions. MEITAL leads this active community in a range of activities, including working groups, round tables on pedagogic and operational areas, examining new learning technologies, and offering key infrastructure services to institutions. In addition, MEITAL makes available a range of learning technologies and technological tools at consortium prices.

MEITAL strives to work together to improve the connection between teaching, learning and technology, bringing together the leading experts in higher education, with the goal of improving and enabling quality technological academic instruction.

MEITAL’s Mission and Activities

The goal of MEITAL is to assist institutions of higher learning – universities and academic colleges – in promoting the use of learning technologies. To achieve this goal, MEITAL operations focus on three primary areas:
